It's here! The cover was finished late last night, thanks to my amazing brother Luke. I think it has to be the best Christmas present I have ever received and now the book feels more like a real entity.
Today is the start of a new week, and there's still lots to do; more editing and generally getting the text file ready to upload to Amazon by the deadline, buying an ISBN number, thinking about marketing and the launch. Oh help! I feel totally out of my depth, but it's an exciting feeling too.
I read a quote this morning, from the New Zealand painter and author Peter T. McIntyre. He said, "Confidence comes not from always being right, but from not fearing to be wrong." I'm going to try and bear that in mind this week, and not worry too much about the mistakes I make (there's bound to be some!) but instead focus on enjoying the process. I'm fulfilling my lifelong dream after all.
So what's Toby's dream? Right now all he wants to do is escape Bluebell Farm and the cruel Mr and Mrs Gentle, but he could never have imagined what would happen next...
